Words That Heal: Writing Together Through Cancer
A Workshop for Those Who's Lives Have Been Touched by Cancer
Writing is an art form that belongs to every one of you. It is also a powerful tool for healing. Writing is a kind of prayer – a prayer in which you don’t ask for anything, except to know your own experience and to make meaning of it.
In the difficult and painful journey through cancer, writing can help. When you write together and share your experiences, it can help you:
- Express the complex emotions that come with a diagnosis of cancer
- Gain perspective and cope more effectively with life’s hardships
- Integrate your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being
This monthly three hour workshop will be followed by weekly web-based writing exercises and dialog with the leader. The workshop is open to both men and women whose lives have been touched by cancer, including spouses or partners. All you need to bring is paper and pen.
